Collaboration between TeraView and major aerospace & defence partners leads to successful trials & sales on stealth and propulsion platforms

Mar 11, 2026

TeraView, the pioneer and leader in terahertz technology and solutions, is pleased to announce recent groundbreaking collaborative work between TeraView and several major global aerospace and defence companies.

The market need for TeraView’s unique Terahertz inspection technology has recently expanded to the aerospace and defence industries. This is based in part on the unique ability of Terahertz light to measure the thickness, density and detect defects in coatings that are key to the protection and performance of critical components in aerospace propulsion platforms.

TeraView has recently completed successful, on-site paid trials and a sale of its TeraCota product to a major EU defence contractor. This work was based on the output of previous paid contracts with the customer. TeraView has now successfully demonstrated the ability of its TeraCota product to measure stealth materials critical to defense applications in aerospace, but also being used in drones, ships, military vehicles and other platforms to avoid radar detection. Part of the contract with the customer involves on-going software and applications support as the customer explores different stealth materials. Negotiations have also occurred for additional sales to other customer production facilities.

In related successful proof of concept work, TeraView has collaborated with one of the world’s largest providers of rocket propulsion systems to demonstrate the ability of Terahertz to measure protective coatings critical to engine performance. Further discussions are being held with the customer and systems integrators to move these activities to a field prototype stage based on TeraView’s TeraCota product.

Don Arnone, TeraView’s CEO, stated “These collaborations and initial sales with rocket engine and stealth material manufacturers are part of TeraView’s approach to expanding the market size for TeraView’s existing TeraCota coating inspection system into the defence industry. Working closely with these aerospace and defense leaders ensures that new capabilities that we develop are directly in line with customer requirements. This is a customer-driven product development model that we have used successfully in our established semiconductor and energy storage solutions businesses. We expect these US- and EU-based activities to translate rapidly into the Korean market, where we have strong alliances with Korean systems integrators such as Doolim Yasakawa as routes to market and where we expect our TeraCota product to also play a major role in other defense industries such as shipbuilding, where both multi-layer paint coatings as well as stealth materials are also fundamental to protection and performance. TeraView has worked with the maritime industry in the past, and the advent of increased collaborations between the US and Korea governments and companies on shipbuilding for defence purposes represents a unique opportunity for TeraView to potentially add value.”
